Scott Lee Smith

Scott L. Smith, "Smitty", 58, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Born on September 3, 1967, Scott graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1986. He went on to build a meaningful and respected career as the Director of Security for the Masonic Homes of Kentucky. He was known for his loyalty, quick humor, big heart, and unwavering commitment to protecting the people he cared about.
Scott is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary L. Smith; his daughter, Stephanie Smith; his brothers-in-law, Scott Lewis (Katie), Matt Lewis (Marie), and Sam Lewis; his mother-in-law, Sally Aubrey Lewis; his nephew, Samuel Lewis; his nieces, Emma and Maggie Lewis; and his beloved dog and constant sidekick, Maverick. He was cherished by a wide circle of extended family and friends, all of whom will miss him deeply.
All are invited to a celebration of life on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at The Olmsted, 3701 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY 40207. Visitation will be held from 5:00–6:30 PM, followed by a tribute at 6:30 PM. Stories, laughter, and toasts are encouraged - just the way he would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Sisters of Loretto, where Scott's great-aunt, Carolyn Jaramillo, resides as a co-member. Plus, it is just down the road from his favorite bourbon, Maker's Mark!
