Scott J. Stanaway, 62, of Little Silver, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 21, 2025, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born on Staten Island, NY and raised in Woodbridge, NJ. There he was a graduate of Woodbridge High School and received his bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University. After he received his degree Scott started his 31-year career as a New Jersey State Trooper. During his career as a trooper Scott's fondest memory was being security for the Rutger's Football Team. After his retirement as a Lieutenant in 2017, Scott was the Lead of Executive Protection for Johnson and Johnson. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed boating, loved cooking and gardening. Scott was a NY Jets and Boston Red Sox fan.

Scott was predeceased by his father John Stanaway. He is survived by his loving wife Stacey Longo, his children Thomas Longo and his wife Kate, Ryan Longo, Alex Longo, Madison Longo, Brandon Stanaway, and Jaclyn Mendelsohn. Scott is also survived by his mother Mary Ann Stanaway, as well as his brother Doug Stanaway.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday August 23, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. There will be a prayer service held at 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm during the visitations. To send condolences to the family please visit www.orenderfamilyhome.net.
