John Scott Dalglish, age 66, passed away on June 30, 2025, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Born on September 15, 1958, in Landsdowne, Maryland, to Edward Charles Dalglish and Sally Ann Dalglish, Scott was raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. As the eldest of four brothers, he led by example - paving the way in piano lessons, Boy Scouts, HO slot car racing, waterskiing, and LP record collecting. Summers were often spent with his family at Chautauqua Lake in western New York, a place Scott held dear throughout his life.
Scott graduated from Harbor Creek High School in 1976, where he excelled both academically and athletically as a member of the swim and tennis teams. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Grove City College in 1980. His professional journey began at Texas Instruments in Dallas and continued through positions at Honeywell and Molex, where he worked in sales and business development roles in Houston and Austin.
It was in Texas where Scott met Carolyn Salinas Dalglish, the love of his life. Together, they built a life centered around love and family, raising two beautiful daughters, Shawn Taylor of Denver, Colorado, and Mackenzie Leigh of Austin, Texas. The couple began their Texan life together in Highland Village before moving to The Woodlands in 2005. For the last 12 years of his life, Scott and Carolyn lived in their dream home nestled in the hills of Lago Vista, overlooking the beauty of Lake Travis.
A faithful member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Marble Falls, Scott gave generously of his time through service on various community boards. He embraced life's simple pleasures: cruising through the Hill Country in his restored 1988 red convertible Mazda RX-7, curating his coin collection, savoring single malt scotch while watching the sunset, and rooting for the Texas Rangers.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Sally. He is survived by his father, Edward; his beloved wife, Carolyn; his daughters, Shawn and Mackenzie; his brothers, Mark (Anna), Geoffrey (Leslie), and Gregory (Kim); and a large extended family.
Scott will be remembered for his enduring positivity, unwavering values, generous heart, and deep love for family and friends. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
