Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory on Sep. 15, 2024.
Sean Edward Fader, known for his amazing smile and magnetic personality, left us far too early in life on September 13th, 2024, in a tragic car accident- devastating his friends and family. He had just begun his senior year at Oswego High School where he showed his school spirit, but Sean had already lived a lifetime of adventure by the age of 17.
Sean came into this world on January 8th, 2007, and quickly became the cutest, chubbiest, rubber-band armed baby on the block in
Oswego, Illinois. His first years were spent laying on his dad's chest while watching Cubs games, but once he could walk, his days were outside playing sports, climbing trees, and building forts with friends. Sean passed away near a tree, which is only fitting since he loved climbing them like a little monkey.
Sean's roots were formed surrounded by family. His proud mom and dad, Bill and Nikki Fader, his loving sister Paige, aunts, uncles, and grandparents all adored Sean's smirk, giggle, and deep blue eyes. They spent weekends together grilling and playing baseball or fishing in their backyards. Sean was champion of the Slip 'N Slide competition with perfect 10's on all his attempts.
On any sunny afternoon, you'd find Sean playing volleyball, spikeball, baseball, football, or golf with friends. One summer he became the resident fisherman at the lake behind his house, giving tips to those around him. Sean loved competing, even running a 10K at the age of nine, disregarding his parent's requests to take walking breaks. Sean worked at the Oswego Park District refereeing soccer matches and as a lifeguard at the Churchill pool where he showed his muscles gained from hours of weight training with close friends. After high school, Sean's intent was to earn a degree in Kinesiology or exercise science so that sports could remain an important part of his life.
When Sean became a teenager and branched out, he really shined. Sean took pride in having multiple close friend groups and navigating them so that everyone felt like his best friend. He loved hanging with his friends, tubing behind a boat, and finding shells on the beach, to the point that home became a mere rest stop. To solve this, Sean swung hammers and laid flooring in the basement, so he no longer had an excuse to be gone, and his friends became part of the family "moveasone". His parents are so appreciative of the bonds formed over the years that were only broken because of a tragic accident they hope is never repeated for anyone.
They say some people are leaders and some are followers, but Sean was one the special few that are simply magnets, bringing people together in laughter and joy, even when life was hard.
Sean, you will be missed more than you could ever realize. Your family and friends hope you've reached the top branch of the tree and are looking down on us with love.
