Sean S. Greif, 46, of Oswego, IL passed away suddenly on August 29, 2024 at Rush-Copley Medical Center. He was born on August 30, 1977 in Aurora, IL.
Sean and Julie enjoyed 25 years together. Sean was a loving and caring husband who will be missed beyond measure. Sean was an amazing Uncle to his nieces and nephews, a Godfather to many children and a great friend to many people. Sean loved to fish and he had an appreciation for all cars (including Hot Wheels). Sean and Julie enjoyed spending time at car shows and would proudly take their 63 Ford Falcon. Sean also loved hanging out with friends and sharing many laughs. Sean was an avid White Sox and Chicago Bears fan. Sean loved to cook for his family and friends and always wanted to be behind the grill. Sean was a member of St George Church and would always volunteer to lend a hand. He even put together a car show fundraiser for the Church. Sean always made sure he attended many school and sporting events for his nieces and nephews. Sean was a one of a kind guy who would always lend a hand to anyone. He was a guy that people knew they could count on and if you had an issue with a car, he was your guy. We lost an amazing man but Heaven definitely gained an Angel.
A special thank you to Home Depot FDC/BDC in Bedford Park, where he was employed for the last 5 years, for their support and compassion during this time.
He is survived by his wife Julie (Glover) Greif; his mother Cindy Spilman; his brother Michael (Lisa) Spurlin; his mother and father-in-law Carol and Tony Glover; brother-in-law Tony (Jen) Glover; Grandmother-in-law Betty Glover; two Aunts Bonnie (Bill) Hickman and Connie Hill; Uncle Gary Greif; several nieces nephews, and cousins and his best friends Marco (Marissa) Melendez and Johnny (Diana) Aceves.
He was preceded in death by his father Daniel "Pops" Greif, Uncle Gordy Greif, Uncle Chipper and his wife (Lynette) Greif; Aunt Veronica (Ro) Komes; Aunt Rhonda Greif; and his Paternal and Maternal Grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10:00am at St. George Church. Fr. Frederick Peterson, OSB will officiate with interment at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Visitation for Sean will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 where he will lie in state from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at St. George Church and again on Friday morning from 9:00am until the funeral hour at 10:00am at St. George Church.

First my condolences to Julie. I recently talked with Julie and Sean at the Montgomery car show, I knew his dad since we went to Simmons Jr High together, I recall when Danny passed I was heart broken he was a true friend, now that Sean has passed it is even more heart breaking, he was so excited to see me as I was to see him. He was telling me all about what he has been up to and how things are going in his life, we had a great conversation talking about old times and when he was younger. You never know what tomorrow will bring so make sure to take a moment to see a friend and share how you feel about them.
I will miss his friendship, this leaves an empty spot in my heart.
God Bless Sean......... God Speed My Friend.
