Sean Mattia Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home - Standish Chapel on Aug. 25, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Sean D. "Tater" Mattia, a cherished soul known for his thoughtful, loving, and kind nature, was

called home to God on August 23, 2025, after a day filled with the roar of his beloved Harley,

the warmth of laughter, and the company of dear friends. Born in Standish, Michigan, on

January 17, 1984. Sean's journey through life was one marked by deep connections,

unwavering loyalty, and a spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Sean's early years were spent in the nurturing care of his mother, Margaret Rose (Reid) Warr,

who was the love of his life and whose passing just eight months prior left a void only to be

filled by their joyous reunion. The bond they shared was a testament to the power of love that

transcends even death. Sean is also preceded in death by cherished family members Reid, Zack,

Richard, Alyssa, and is now surely amidst a grand celebration with grandparents, friends, and

loved ones in the hereafter.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his devoted stepfather, Joe Warr,

his grandmother Rose Dewald, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who

each hold a special story of Sean in their hearts. His beloved dog, Scooby, was a constant

companion by his side, whether on the road in his semi or at home, a faithful friend to the end.

Sean's educational journey culminated with his graduation from Arenac Eastern in the class of

2002. His professional path led him to a successful career as a salesman for Leaf Guard Gutters

in Saginaw, MI, where his charisma and genuine care for others shone brightly.

A man of many passions, Sean's love for hunting was an annual tradition at the Empty Shell

Hunt Club, where family and friends would gather, undoubtedly partaking in shenanigans that

only those present could fully appreciate. His strong-willed nature was evident in his ideas and

beliefs, especially when it came to his unwavering support for the University of Michigan-his

battle cry of "Go Blue" echoing with fervor.

Music was a refuge and a joy for Sean, a self-taught guitar player and harmonica enthusiast

whose melodies are now a cherished memory. His life was a song, a composition of moments

that, as Helen Keller once said, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that

we love deeply becomes a part of us." Sean's melody lingers on, in the hearts and minds of all

who were blessed to know him.

Funeral Service will be held August 28, 2025 at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home- Standish with Rev.

Bill Davis presiding with burial in Whitney Sims Cemetery. Family will greet friends and family
