Serafina Scafidi, age 96, of Willowick, who left us peacefully on February 17, 2025. Born on September 4, 1928, in Sicily to the late Paolo and Grazia Saia, Serafina lived a life rich in love, family, and tradition.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Rosalie Scafidi and Maria Grace Ruolo (Frank). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 20 years, Felice Scafidi and her siblings, Salvatore, Cologero, Giuseppe, Francesca, and Rosa. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A woman of incredible talents, Serafina was an avid gardener, nurturing both beautiful roses and bountiful vegetables whom she loved sharing with her friends and family. Her hands were also skilled in the art of sewing, serving as both a professional seamstress and a beloved source for her family. Above all, she expressed her love through her exceptional cooking, with unforgettable meals, particularly her sauce and meatballs.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, located at 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon at St. Mary Magdalene Church, at 32114 Vine St, Willowick, OH 44095. Serafina will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Serafina's memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve or St. Jude’s.
As we gather to honor her memory, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, kindness, and the joy of giving to others.
