Serena Andrea Medrano, affectionately known as Serena by her loved ones, passed away peacefully on the 27th of May, 2025, in the comfort of her home in New York. Born on December 30, 1949, in Santo Domingo, she was a beacon of love and joy throughout her 75 years of life.
Serena was a matriarch in the truest sense, her life a testament to the power of love and the strength of family. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, brother and sister and her nieces and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of compassion and generosity as they the apples of her eye, each of them a reflection of her boundless love.
Serena's infectious laughter and wise counsel were the glue that held the family together, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all. Serena's heart was always open, and her hands were never idle. She relished in the joy of taking care of her plants, a passion that was only matched by her joy in hosting dinners at her home.
Her home was a stronghold of warmth and care, a place where friends and family were always welcome, and where memories were made around her dining table. Her spirit of giving knew no bounds, and she never hesitated to lend a hand. Serena's charitable work for the underprivileged in the Dominican Republic was a source of great personal fulfillment and made a tangible difference in the lives of many.
Serena's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her family, her friends, and her faith. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Serena Andrea Medrano's love and laughter will echo through time, a lasting legacy of a life beautifully lived.
