I first met Shea at law school orientation (in Boulder, CO). She sat down next to me (at orientation) and introduced herself as Legally Blonde incarnate. She was right and knew herself fully. Confident but understanding, with a bright sense of humor.
We skied Breckenridge once together during law school when her sister visited after the movie Napoleon Dynamite was all the rage, and during the post ski beverage, they reenacted the funniest bits from the movie and laughed. We all laughed. They were great together and I will never forget that moment.
I'm sure this is a very difficult time for all involved, but Shae was the best of people. She was on her way to help a friend in need; her (law school) roommate after his wife unexpectedly passed recently.
No questions asked she would be there and take care of anything no matter the circumstances. I can't emphasize enough how completely she loved and cared for her friends. And her care was much appreciated.
I'm saddened by this loss, and would like to express my deepest condolences to family and friends. I definitely understand that probably means little, but I wanted to share these memories and try to highlight the impact she had on all of us. We'll miss her.
My sympathies,
Matt Gage

Dear members of Shae's family, her friends and colleagues: I am stunned and heartbroken to learn of Shae's passing. I met her when she came to work as an associate attorney in Denver, several months before her marriage to Luke. We became fast friends. Her generosity had no limits, and her kindness so pure and from the heart. She was also a confident woman, with a quick wit. I will miss her laughter. I will miss her texts and the photos she would send of her sweet daughters. I have never known anyone who faced both struggles and joy with such grace. I will always miss her. My deepest sympathies.
