Shannon Dowdy, 54, of Glendale, Arizona, passed away on October 18th, 2025. He was born on November 20th, 1970, in Wichita Falls, Texas, and grew up in the Wichita Falls and Charlie, Texas area, which always held a special place in his heart.
Shannon is survived by his mother, Rose Ballard, and father and stepmother, Ronald and Betty Dowdy; his sisters, Amber Russell and Ashley Harrison; his daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Dylan Gunn; his son, Bailey Dowdy; and his granddaughter, Emersyn Gunn, who was the light of his life.
His nephews, Conrad Wainscott and James Thomas, and niece, Rowan Russell.
His one true friend, best friend, Haley Miracle, and her daughters, whom he loved as his own, Destiny Miracle and Serenity Gerow.
Shannon was a hardworking man who spent many years as a truck driver, finding peace and freedom on the open road. In recent years, he brought that same dedication and pride to his work with Steady Install, where he spent the last four years.
Beyond his work, Shannon's true passions were the things that fed his curious and generous heart: history, science fiction, great stories, and laughter. He could light up a room with his humor, and there was never a story he couldn't make better with a few extra details and a grin.
He was a loving son, a devoted brother, and the best dad anyone could ask for. He adored his family deeply, especially the time he spent playing and laughing with his granddaughter, Emersyn.
Shannon's life was a story of strength and redemption. He faced his battles head-on, fought hard, and was nearing four years of sobriety an incredible milestone that spoke volumes about his courage and determination. He lived without regrets, always offering a helping hand and a kind word to anyone in need.
To know Shannon was to love him. His heart was big, his humor was quick, and his presence was unforgettable. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
