Margaret Shannon Miniuk, of King George, Virginia, passed away on October 9, 2025, at VCU Hospital in Richmond, surrounded by the people who loved her most. She was 53 years young.
Born on June 5, 1972, to Donald and Margaret Roe, Shannon (as most people knew her) lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and style. She had a kind spirit that put people at ease and a quiet strength that lifted others up, often without them even realizing it.
Shannon was known for many things such as her incredible cooking, her bold sense of fashion, her quirky humor and her love of trying new recipes. But more than anything, she'll be remembered for the way she made people feel, welcome, seen, and cared for.
For over 30 years, Shannon worked at GEICO in Stafford as a claim supervisor, where she not only built a successful career but created lifelong friendships. Her work ethic, sharp sense of humor, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know her.
Shannon could quote almost every line from her favorite movies: Tombstone, Star Wars, Fast and Furious, and many more classics. In fact, covering every spare corner of the house was her idol and favorite character, Darth Vader. She was also a devoted Chicago Bears fan, cheering them on through all the ups, downs, missed kicks and fumbles with the same loyalty and heart she gave to everything else in her life.
Shannon is survived by her mother, Margaret Roe; her husband, Calvin Price; her daughter, Mackenzie Elizabeth Miniuk; her son-in-law, Nick Butcher; her nephew, Ethan Roe; her father-in-law, Calvin Price Jr.; her mother-in-law, Robin Price; sisters-in-law, Debbie and Diane Roe; and her brothers-in-law, Bryan and Andre Price.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Roe, and her brothers, Jacob Roe and Daniel Roe.
She will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and unforgettable spirit will carry on in every recipe passed down, every Sunday game watched, and every memory shared by those who knew her best.
