Shannon Emmert Monterrosa, 57, went to be with our Lord on Friday January 3, 2025.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 11, 2025 at 4:00 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel.
Shannon was born on July 24, 1967 in Lebanon, Indiana to Philip Hodge Emmert and Sue Neal Emmert. The family moved to Swan Quarter and Shannon attended Mattamuskeet High School where she met many of her lifelong friends.
Shannon was married to Felix Monterrosa, and had three wonderful children, Mychal Bailey, Brandon Bailey and Sara Monterrosa. Shannon worked at Kmart for 24 years, at Spay Today, and finally at Eastern Elementary School. Shannon was a member of University Church of Christ and loved the Lord. Shannon loved to ride on her husband's motorcycle, recently traveling to Maine. Shannon learned to ride on her own along with Sara. Shannon was loved by many.
Shannon was preceded in death by her grandparents Robert and Anna Emmert Charles and Anna Neal, mother Sue Emmert, uncle Kenneth Neal, Aunt Marcia Lee, stepmom Beatrice Emmert and grandbaby Kai Bailey.
Shannon is survived by her father Philip Emmert, her husband Felix Monterrosa Sr, sons Mychal (Kameshia Barnes) Bailey and Brandon(Jenna) Bailey, daughter Sara Monterrosa. Stepsons Andrew (Miranda) DeLeon and Felix (Tiffany) Monterrosa Jr. Grandchildren Mathias Bailey, Kaleb Bailey, Rylee Bailey, Melanie DeLeon, Adrian DeLeon, Allison DeLeon, Mathias DeLeon, April DeLeon, Daniel Campos, Lisette Campos and Charlie Monterrosa; Brothers Keith (Suzanne) Emmert, Dennis (Roberta) Emmert, and Michael (Debbie) Emmert. Aunts and Uncles Sherry Spurling, Pam (Rex) Boone, Kevin (Lisa) Neal; Nieces and
Nephews Samantha (Jonathan) Saunders, Seth (Reece) Emmert, Jessie (Marcus) Thompson, Steven Emmert, Alicia Emmert, Devon (Trent) Viccari, Cameron Emmert, and Olivia Emmert; and numerous cousins.
The visitation will be on Saturday January 11, 2025 from 2:30 to 3:45 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
