Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dolan Funeral Home - North Chelmsford on Jun. 16, 2025.
She was a loving wife, devoted mother, passionate environmental scientist, and outdoor adventurer-but also a deeply loved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. She meant so much to so many.
Shannon Denise (Brunelle) Shea, age 28, of Brookline, New Hampshire, passed away on June 9, 2025, after a courageous journey with Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
Born on January 11, 1997, to Bryan and Janet (Babbit) Brunelle, Shannon was raised in Chelmsford, Massachusetts and grew up spending countless joyful summers at her Grandmother Coles cottage in Wentworth, New Hampshire with the Brunelle's, Babbit's and Therrien's. From an early age, Shannon treasured the outdoors and traveling. Her parents took her on many camping trips, Disneyland, Disney World, Italy, Washington, D.C., Niagara Falls and many more.
Shannon was a natural leader and a quiet force of positivity, serving as cheerleading captain at Chelmsford High School. After high school, she went on to college at Plymouth State University where she earned her degree in Environmental Science and Meteorology in 2019. It was there that her deep love of the outdoors took root-shaping her values, her sense of calm, and her path forward. After graduation, she proudly began her dream job as an Environmental Scientist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
She met her husband Dana in high school, and their love was admirable to say the least. They became engaged during a once-in-a-lifetime road trip across the U.S., and in 2022, they were married in a beautiful ceremony at Acadia National Park in Maine.
In spring of 2024, they were blessed with their beautiful baby boy, Luke, and hoped he and his cousin Dominic, born the year before, would grow up sharing a lifelong bond-full of family traditions, mischief, and fun stories. We cherish having a special part of her here today.
She found joy in the simple things-camping, hiking, paddleboarding, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and cooking. She loved shopping and had an eye for stylish yet comfortable clothing. She gave the best presents because she knew who you were and what you would like. She was calm and steady, with a kind heart and quiet courage that touched everyone she met. She had a grateful soul, spread kindness with her words and actions, would give you the shirt off her back, and oh so patient with all of us.
She shared an unbreakable bond with her animals. Her beloved dogs, Riley and Theo, and her cat, Dolly, were her constant companions. Riley and Theo rarely left her side, offering unwavering comfort and love.
Shannon is survived by her loving husband, Dana Shea, and their infant son, Luke; her parents, Bryan and Janet Brunelle; her sister, Sarah (Brunelle) Lee and husband AJ; nephew Dominic; her in-laws, Beth Carrison, Quintin Shea, her brother-in-law Joe Shea, and girlfriend Skyler Snook; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives were forever brightened by knowing her.
