Shannon Lee Whitten, 51, of Pelion, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 12th, 2025 at MUSC, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 6th, 1973, Shannon lived a life defined by hard work, devotion, and deep love for the people around him. Over the years, he worked as a truck driver, an electrician, and eventually, the proud owner of his own company. No matter the job, Shannon approached every day with dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to providing for his family.

Shannon was a devoted husband, dad, son, brother, and friend. He treasured time spent with his family and friends, and he had a special place in his heart for his seven beloved furry companions-Pepper, Mya, Molly, Max, Puppy, Duke, and Jolene. When he wasn't working or surrounded by loved ones, Shannon could often be found enjoying the peace and quiet of a good fishing trip. Shannon loved Clemson Football so much, he swears the Tigers play better when he yells at the TV.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Whitten; his nephews, Aaron Barnette and Jesse Wood; and by two of his cherished dogs, Pepper Whitten and Mya Whitten.

Shannon is survived by his wife, Nichole Whitten; his children, Shaylin Jo Kyzer (Ryan) and Pryce Michael Allen Whitten (Chloe); his mother, Sarah Whitten; his brothers, Clyde Barnette (Gerry) and Glenn Wood; and his sister, Gwen Bailey (Larry). He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Those who were blessed to know Shannon will forever carry his laughter, his strength, and his love with them.

Memorial services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, December 6th, at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC 29073.
