Sharon Ann Berger, 82, went home to her Creator and her love of 62 years on November 29, 2024, in Monticello, Florida. She was born on August 21, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan to Ernest and Mary Ann LeClerc.
Sharon primarily grew up in Washington, Michigan with her brothers, Leonard, Michael, and David. She graduated from high school in Romeo, Michigan. At the age of 18 she enlisted into the United States Air Force where she was among the first class of women to be accepted as a medic. It was there that she met the love of her life, Yvon Berger, a fellow Airman who she helped nurse back to health.
They soon married in Washington, Michigan in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (Sharon's childhood church) and started a life of their own. Together, they made a home in California where they had three beautiful boys, Steven, Marc, and Jean-Paul. They raised their children on a homestead farm in Auburn, California where they remained until Yvon's passing in 2015. Sharon spent the last 9 years visiting family and friends.
Sharon was an avid lover of the arts; she maintained a fervent passion throughout her life and into her adulthood. She was known to take college art classes with her youngest son Jean-Paul. She had a great love for the outdoors and especially gardening. She kept an abundant garden in her home in Monticello, which she shared with her oldest son Steven. Sharon was an adventurous soul and traveled the world throughout her life both with her husband Yvon, and after his passing. She made a second home in Montana, despite the cold, with her middle son, Marc. Sharon visited her granddaughter, Brooke, in Paris many times in the recent years and this past year made it to her husband's home country of New Caledonia with her granddaughter, Ammra.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Yvon, and her brother Michael. She is survived by her sons: Steven Berger (Kelli) of Monticello, Florida, Marc Berger (Vicki) of Billings, Montana, and Jean-Paul Berger (Amy) of Panama City, Florida; six grandchildren: Truman, Zoe, Brooke, Christian, Liam (Madison), and Ammra; brand new great-grandchild, Samantha Mae (Liam & Madison); brothers: Leonard LeClerc (Connie) and David LeClerc (Betty); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
