Pamela Joy "Pam" Douglas, of Monticello, FL, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. She was born on November 13, 1949, in Jacksonville, FL, and raised in Jacksonville, FL.
Pam was a journalist photographer for the Jacksonville Times Union and the Monticello News. In 1982, Pam married William "Bill" Douglas, and they resided in Monticello, FL. Bill was her love and the source of all her happiness.
Pam was a founding member of the Ochlockonee River Kennel Club. In her spare time, Pam loved spending time with her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren. She was known for her unwavering love and dedication to the art of dog showing, particularly within the German shepherd community. For over 40 years Pam graced the dog show rings with her skilled handling and passion for the breed, and achieved notable successes including winning Best of Breed at major shows and attaining multiple Champion titles. She was not only a talented handler but also a dedicated mentor to aspiring exhibitors, sharing knowledge and experience with a passionate and generous spirit. Beyond the show ring, Pam had an unwavering commitment to canine welfare and nature.
Pam was predeceased by her mother, Marie Starling; her father, Lee R. Starling; her brother, Gary; and sister, Cynthia. She is survived by daughters: Heather Charisse Douglas, of Tallahassee, FL and Molly Marie Williams, of Monticello, FL; son-in-law, Christopher D. Williams; grandchildren: Haley, Christian, Connor and Kyle; brother, Lee Starling Jr.; sister, Sandra Starling; sister-in-law, Charalyn J. Blagg (Ronnie); her fur babies: Lola and Mardi; additional survivors: cousins, nephews, great-nephews, and dear friends.
