Sharon Elaine Bryant was born February 20, 1956 to the late Queenie B. and Henry Bryant Jr in Powder Springs, Georgia.
Sharon accepted Christ as a young girl and was baptized at Old Friendship Baptist Church in Powder Springs, Georgia. Sharon became a member of Bible Believers Ministries, Inc., in
Decatur, Georgia, under the leadership of Rev. W. L. Howard, Jr. Sharon loved the Lord and served faithfully in the Usher Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, and Sunday School until she went to be in the presence of the Lord.
Sharon led by example. She demonstrated what it meant to be devoted, dedicated, dependable, and driven. She was determined to complete anything she started. Sharon attended Atlanta Public Schools and later received her GED. She retired from Georgia State University Environmental Services after working there for over 30 years in 2016.
Sharon enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, trying new recipes, traveling, and being with family. She was a whiz with numbers and masterful with words. If she thought it, she said it. If she said it, she meant it. Except for "keeping" babies. 40 years ago, she said she was done "keeping" or bonding with babies, but she kept Kayden aka "Bookie," for two years, up to two weeks ago.
Sharon was affectionately called "Sheerie," coined by her grandsons "Munck" and "Munchie." Everybody loved "Sheerie", and she loved everybody back. Sharon was the glue that kept the family connected, and she made our friends family forever. Sharon was the epitome of what love is, love does. The doors to Sharon's home hung on swinging hinges. She opened her home to everyone who found themselves in a transitional phase.
Sharon was a proud grandma, even though she delayed embracing the title. She was the best AUNTIE to everybody, including her grandchildren. As special as she made everyone feel, her children, Anthony, Cedric, and Tiana, were the gleam in her eye. Anthony and Cedric were her fixers, and Tiana was her promise.
Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Bryant; five brothers, Milton and Sherman Barnswell, Richard, Kenneth, and Bernard Bryant; and one sister, Martha Kellings.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy, one son, Cedric (Aretheria) Bryant; one daughter/niece, Tiana (Malik) Ali, six grandchildren, Demetrius (Rita) Smith, Nakeisha Bryant, Shontrece Bryant, Cedric Bryant, Jr, Deshun Bryant, and Milton Coleman; 26 grandchildren; one sister, Sandra ( Edward) Gaines; two brothers, Stevie Barnswell and Sidney Bryant; four aunts, Peggy Few, Shirley Stinson, Ella Barnett, and Juanita Mallory: two uncles, Robert (Nell) Hembree, and Herbert Bryant; two devoted childhood best friends, Veronica (Ronnie) Napier, and Elizbeth (Pee Wee) Seals; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
