Sharon Dady

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sharon Dady, 88 of Mobridge will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mobridge with Father Michael Griffin, Celebrant. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a Parish Prayer Service at 6:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Mobridge.
Sharon Diane (Rudolph) Dady was born on March 16, 1934. Her loving parents were Leeda and Ellsworth Rudolph. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family January 18, 2023.
Sharon grew up on a farm outside of Claire City, SD where she attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse. She graduated from Sisseton High School in 1951. It was during high school that she met Jack Dady. However, at that time they did not date but hung out together with their group of friends.
Sharon married Jack Dady on September 10, 1955 in Sisseton SD. Their first son, Mark was born in Minneapolis. They soon left the big city for Sisseton to be near family and daughter Therese was born. They then moved to Aberdeen for a brief time and their third child Paul was born. In June of 1960 Jack and Sharon had an opportunity to purchase a pharmacy in Mobridge.
Mobridge fast became their forever home and they added two more children, Steve and Cheryl. Sharon would bake daily for Dady Drug's fountain area. Carrot cake was her specialty. Eventually, she took over the bookkeeping at the store and was meticulous in her books to the penny. She truly enjoyed the interaction with the customers and would continue to work as long as she physically could at Dady Drug, well into her late 70's
Sharon and Jack built a life strong in faith, family and many lifelong friendships. Friends were very important to her. Her close group of friends raised their families, partied, traveled and spent family time at the river together. She had a group of friends that would get together and play bridge a couple times a month. They were forever friends and were always there for each other. The laughter when the ladies got together is a great memory of her children. Remembering people's birthdays and anniversaries with a card and a note sent by Sharon was appreciated by so many. She also really loved to send and receive Christmas greetings.
Being active in many community activities is something Sharon loved. She was active in Alter Society, Hospital Auxiliary, Jaycettes, cub scout leader, religious education teacher, Ladies golf league, and SD Pharmaceutical Auxiliary. She was honored as Young Woman of the Year by the Jaycettes in 1964.
Her husband Jack lovingly called her Sugie, Precious, Tiger or TR Tiger Rose. Jack always said the Lord gave him the Best!
Sharon was an amazing woman and a woman of prayer. Loving, kind, beautiful, caring, compassionate religious, sweet and blessed are words used to describe her. Her greatest job was that of "Mom" and later "Grandma" and "GG". She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, always taking care of everyone. Her most important memories were of times spent together as family!
She is survived by her children: Mark (Diane) Dady, Mobridge SD; Therese (Deino) Sather, Elkhorn NE; Steven Dady, Mobridge SD; Cheryl Bertsch, Blaine MN; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister, Barb Hall and brother, Sam Rudolph. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Leeda Rudolph, her husband, Jack Dady,and her son, Paul Dady.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or the Mobridge Regional Hospital Foundation.
