Medford – Sharon E. Ingalls, 78, passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2025. She was born October 30, 1946, in Greenville, the daughter of Pearley G.W. and Marion G. (MacKinnon) Cail.

For 25 years, Sharon worked as the office manager at the Portland Ice Arena, where she dedicated herself to her work and spent most of those years alongside her loving husband and best friend, Gary Ingalls. During their off time, they loved to travel around in their motorhome. Whether it be a weekend trip to New York or a trip around the country.

After retiring, Sharon found joy in moving to her camp in the woods year-round, where she embraced the simple beauty of nature and created a place of peace and comfort.

Sharon's passions came to life in her gardens. She loved tending to her vegetable, flower, and herb gardens, and took great pride in building ponds and transforming her backyard into a true oasis. Evenings at her home glowed with the warmth of solar lights, tiki torches, her fire pit, and the inviting beauty of her greenhouse.

Above all, Sharon cherished her family. She delighted in time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her love for them was evident in every moment they shared. She also loved spending time with her cousins, sharing memories of their childhood around Brownville and Ebeemee. Her family will forever remember her warmth, strength, and the happiness she brought to their lives.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband, Gary. She is survived by her four daughters, Janet Demmons and husband, Daniel, Donna Dumaine and husband, Jeffrey, April Buchanan and husband, Steven, and May James and husband, Joseph; twelve grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Brittany M., Brittany L., Nicole, Joshua, Justin, Kayla, Seth, Morgan, Joseph, Richard, and Gloria; fourteen great-grandchildren, Emma, Payson, Kashton, Chloe, Zoe, Gavin, Rachel, Chelsea, Lydia, Henry, Alyssa, Wesley, Noah and Madison; along with many special cousins.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, August 22, until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m., at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Rev. Michele St. Cyr officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
