Sharon Lee Jenner

Sharon Lee Jenner, affectionately known as Shar, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023, in Springfield, MO, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Kansas City, MO, on September 26, 1942, Shar lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of all who knew her with her loving, generous, and selfless spirit.
Shar is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Arthur "Sonny" Jenner, her daughter Lora Wickett and son-in-law Jesse, her loving son Alan, and her sister Marsha Slater of Las Vegas. She also leaves behind her grandson, Ben Hudson, her niece Grace Moyers of Las Vegas, and her brother and sister-in-law Nona and Bill McKelvey, as well as nephews, Bill McKelvey and Bob McCartney. Shar was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Cherie, her parents Stanley and Audna Banes, her in-laws Arthur Sr. and Eloise Jenner, her son-in-law Todd Hudson, and brother-in-law's Cecil Bolton and Ed Slater.
Sharon grew up in North Kansas City, Missouri where she enjoyed a normal and happy childhood with her sister and parents.
When she was 17 years old, her and Sonny were set-up by a mutual friend and soon after their love story began. They were married on September 23, 1960 (just 3 days prior to her 18th birthday). They purchased a home in Shawnee KS in 1966. Their home was filled with love and happiness as they began to raise their 3 children. She was an amazing cook who mastered several of the basics with her own twist including her famous "Whistleburgers".
The family moved south of Belton Mo in 1978 where they enjoyed "the country life". Her and Sonny enjoyed campfires and the serenity of the property. She was always there for her children and would do anything and everything she could to assist them with becoming adults.
During the 1990's her and Sonny became more and more active with riding motorcycles. They enjoyed being members with local clubs and taking part in rides throughout the city and across the country.
In 2005 while vacationing in Branson, Sharon saw a home listed on the cover of a magazine. She said, "that's where I want to live". That year they moved to that house in Springfield where she enjoyed the next 18 years of her life. In the later years she enjoyed drives through Springfield Lake in the evening to see the deer. She loved chocolate shakes, Dr. Pepper, and candy corn. There are a million other wonderful things about her that we will miss dearly.
Shar's generosity knew no bounds, and she was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her selfless nature was evident in the way she cared for her family, friends, and the many animals she took under her wing.
In her passing, Shar leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family.
As we mourn the loss of this remarkable woman, we also celebrate her life and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Sharon Lee Jenner was a beacon of light in this world, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Shar, Mama, & Wife.
