Sharon Vae Kerr, 88 of Ames, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, IA.
Sharon was born August 9, 1936, in Jefferson, IA, the daughter of Charles and Ora (Bagley) Cleveland. She graduated from Jefferson High School and earned her LPN degree from DMACC. Sharon worked in home health and at Mary Greeley Medical Center. On November 21,1989, she married Larry "Duffer" Kerr in Galena, IL. Sharon was a member of Rock Creek Bible Church in Maxwell. She enjoyed reading and will be remembered for sending cards to family and friends for any occasion.
Sharon is survived by her sons David (Penny) Minnihan, Kevin (Diane) Minnihan and Jeff Kerr; daughters Robin (Kurt) Ver Helst and Lisa Richards; 28 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sons Marty Minnihan and Terry Minnihan; sisters Marcia Hicks and Char Barney and grandson Joel Minnihan.
Sharon has been cremated, and a graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, IA. A celebration of her life will be Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the Monticello Eagle's Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels.
