Sharon L. Wallace, 81, of Arden Hills and Woodbury, passed away February 16, 2026 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
For more than 30 years, Sharon was a dedicated employee of Target, where she took great pride in her work. Beyond her career, she gave freely of her time as a long-time volunteer with the Woodbury Days Council, contributing countless hours to her community.
Sharon was a devoted member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Community and an active member of the Ambrosians ministry. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She volunteered in any way she was needed-always with humility, joy, and a servant's heart.
She touched countless lives with her kindness and gentle strength, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in the hearts of her family and friends. Sharon was remarkably determined. Even after being diagnosed with lung cancer five years ago, she continued to walk an average of ten miles a day until a little over a year ago. She was passionate about walking, and refused to let cancer take that from her. Her resilience was nothing short of inspiring.
Sharon found her greatest joy in her family. She loved playing cards and games with her family and her neighborhood friends, filling rooms with laughter and friendly competition. She delighted in baking and cooking-especially alongside her daughter-creating sweet breads, cookies, and soups that she generously shared with family, neighbors, and church friends. No one ever left Sharon's home empty-handed or without feeling cared for.
She will be deeply missed by her loving children, Theresa (Jeff) Janechek, Rick (Camille) Wallace, and Tim (Amanda) Wallace; her siblings Nancy Sevelius, Laverne Waldon, Dennis Waldon, Daniel (Jeanne) Waldon, and Cindy (Kevin) Roberg; many cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as her fellow Ambrosians, friends, and neighbors whose lives she enriched in countless ways.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Richard (Dick) Wallace; her parents, Dorothy and Frank Waldon; and her siblings Marlene Swan, Milton Waldon, Darlene Listerud and Al Waldon.
In keeping with her wishes, a private family service celebrating Sharon's life will be held at a later date-when the weather is more to her liking: warm and sunny. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to Saint Ambrose Catholic Community, where Sharon so faithfully worshiped and served.
Sharon's life was a testament to perseverance, generosity, faith and love. Her footsteps may have slowed, but the path she walked-marked by faith and kindness-will continue to guide all who were blessed to know her.
