Sharon Faye Whittenburg, a loving wife and devoted mother, peacefully passed away on July 7, 2025, in Decatur, Texas, at the age of 82.
A visitation will be held on July 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd, Texas. Following this gathering of remembrance, a graveside service will take place on July 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Garvin Cemetery, allowing family and friends to pay their final respects.
Born on August 18, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas, Sharon attended Castleberry and Lake Worth High Schools before working at Windy Ryon’s in the Fort Worth Stockyards. She often shared colorful stories and fond memories of that time. As a housewife, Sharon showed her love by filling the house with the aroma of fresh home-cooked meals, and she made sure that nobody ever left hungry!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vester and Ola Blair; brothers, Bob McCrory and Benny Blair; sister, Barbara Pickett: daughter, Robyn Wornick.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Larry Whittenburg of Boyd, who stood beside her as a steadfast partner throughout their journey together. Sharon is also survived by her children, Hank Whittenburg, of Boyd; Cherie Beauvais and her husband Eric Beauvais of Paradise; Larry Whittenburg, Jr. of Decatur; grandchildren, Chase Wornick, Grayson Beauvais, Channing Beauvais, and Cass Whittenburg: sister, Kay Caudill; brother Banty Blair; extended family and special friends.
