Shawn Patrick Cummings, 53, of Saugerties, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. He was born on March 26, 1970, in Kingston, NY, son of Anne (Gregory) Cummings and the late William J. Cummings. 

 

He was a Kingston High School graduate and attended SUNY New Paltz. He later became a Master Electrician and owned his own electrical contracting business, A-All Phase Electric in Kingston, NY.

 

He was a talented athlete and was a nationally ranked diver when he was young. Shawn loved sports, especially downhill skiing, golfing, water skiing, and boating. He was an avid hiker and often visited the Mohonk Preserve. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends. Above all, he loved spending time with his son, Emmett, and his family and friends.

 

Shawn is survived by his son, Emmett Cummings, his former wife, Amanda Chapin, his mother, Anne Cummings, his siblings, Susan (Jay) Cummings-Walder, William M. Cummings, and Greg (Heather) Cummings, as well many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was very close with his family. In addition to his father, Shawn is predeceased by his nephew, Kevin Cummings. 

 

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Sunday February 25, 2024, from 2pm to 5pm followed by the funeral service at 5pm. 

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Shawn's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.StJude.org. A tribute for Shawn can be found at www.KeyserFuneralService.com, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family.
