Shawn William Morris, age 53, died on Friday December 26, 2025, at Paradigm (a skilled nursing center) in Katy, Texas. He was born on July 22, 1972, in Woodstock, Illinois to Leonard and Barbara Grant Morris. He grew up in Wonder Lake, Illinois. Shawn graduated from McHenry High School-west campus in 1990. He attended McHenry County College and received his Associate of Science in 1992. Shawn grew up attending First Baptist Church in McHenry and was active in the youth department, played on their softball team, and sang in the choir. In 1996, Shawn and Melissa along with his grandma and sister, Shanna moved to Mustang to live where his parents had relocated to earlier that year. Shawn continued his education at Southern Nazarene University and earned his Bachelor of Science in 2004. He worked for Avaya for several years until losing his sight in his right eye and had been on disability since that time. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mustang. He enjoyed being in choir, teaching Sunday school, and attending various men's bible studies.
When his kids were younger, Shawn enjoyed watching Madison dance and sing on stage and attending Mason's soccer and football games. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Oklahoma Sooners, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
He was preceded in death by his dad, grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his mom Barbara, his daughter Madison and son Mason, his sister Shanna Smith, her husband Josh, and niece Emma and nephew Carter. He is also survived by his Uncle Cliff and Aunt Becky (Colorado), Aunt Barbara Anderson (Illinois), Uncle Dann Skow (Illinois), Aunt Christie Morris, Uncle Lee and Aunt Joanne Chappell, Uncle Verne and Aunt Rosemary McCabe, Uncle Bret and Aunt Crista Jackson (all of Oklahoma), and several cousins.
Service will be held on January 31, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Mustang, OK (928 N Mustang Rd, Mustang, OK 73064)
at 2pm.
