Born in Frederick, MD, he was the adopted son of Vera (Murphy) Mullaney, of Cumberland, and the late Edward J. "Red" Mullaney.
Shawn was a graduate of Overlea High School, Baltimore, MD. Shawn was employed at the Maryland Transportation Authority I-95 and was injured on the job. He was on disability since that time and had 11 back and neck surgeries. His parents moved back to Cumberland when Ed retired and Shawn moved from Baltimore to be with them.
Shawn is survived by his mother, Vera; sister, Kathleen Price and husband, Greg; special friend, Sue Lilly; son, Alan Mullaney; daughter, Ashley Darr and husband, Mike; two grandchildren, Michael and Connor, of Baltimore.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7pm.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 10am.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
