Sheila Barbara Aloia, 76, of Meriden, Connecticut, passed into eternal rest on Monday, July 7, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on April 9, 1949, in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Captain Lewis Aloia, Sr. (Meriden Police Department) and the late Erma Aloia. Sheila was a communicant of Saint Rose of Lima Church in Meriden and graduated from Francis T. Maloney High School. She furthered her education at Middlesex Community College. Sheila dedicated many years to the State of Connecticut, retiring in 2016, and previously served as the manager of Sedgwick Incorporated in Hartford.
Sheila is survived by her loving daughter, Vanessa Volpe of Meriden; her sisters and best friends, Robin Aloia of Meriden and Allison Vitali of East Lyme; her brother, Lewis (Jeanette) Aloia, Jr. of Meriden; and her nephew, Christian (Tatiana) Aloia of Pembroke Pines, Florida. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Ryan Volpe-Delage and Violet Volpe, who were the light of her life. Sheila was predeceased by her parents, her brother Keith Aloia, and her brother-in-law Julian (Chuck) Vitali.
Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Tuesday, July 15th between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The service and burial will be held privately in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden.
