Juliette "Julie" C. (Davignon) Cousino, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 26, 1936, in Meriden, Connecticut to the late Eudore and Marie (Gagnon) Davignon, Julie was a life-long parishioner of St. Laurent Parish, and the cornerstone of her family. A source of endless love and strength, she was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Glen Cousino, two brothers, Leo and Albert, and three sisters, Beatrice, Jeanne and Rita.
Julie is survived by her children, Randy Cousino (Claudia), Denise Smith (Terry), Glen Cousino (Debra), Michelle Hettrick and Mark Cousino, as well as her sister Alice Parys. Also 18 grandchildren, Terry Jr, Debra Lee, Jamie, Tiffaney, Jessica, Kelly, Rebecca, Michael, Ryan, Brandon, Cory, Cody, Ben, Somer, Josiah, Tory, Mary, Lexi, 28 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A woman who loved to entertain, her home was a revolving door of kindness for family, friends, and new acquaintances. Entrapping company with her wonderful cooking and baking, her recipes became her trademark. Her talents multiplied in the 1970s with crafts and jewelry making. Her big heart had her giving away more than she sold. Her joyful spirit touched everyone who came into her path. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her loving strength and giving heart.
The family also extends a warm 'Thank You' to all who contributed their expertise from the Franciscan Home and Hospice Care: Dr. Lefkowitz; Nurses-Peta Rose, Ty, Donna, Troy, Caren; HHA-Theda, Tiffany, Dora; Volunteers-B.J. and Julie; Sister Marcia and Sister Catherine Mary, and all those in the office who coordinated the visits.
Thank you to Ted, from OLQA, for every Sunday that he brought the Eucharist, and shared his many stories. He made the day a more enjoyable experience. In addition, thank you to all those who prayed for our mother during this time. For her, a woman who prayed the rosary, the extension of love was a source of spiritual elevation.
A celebration of Julie's life will be held on Monday November 17th from 4 to 7pm at The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450. The rosary will lead the visitation at 4PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday November 18, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Queen of Angels Parish, Mt. Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden, CT. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. The burial will be in St. Laurents Cemetery, 1151 Hanover Street in Meriden.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you, please, consider making a donation to Franciscan Home and Hospice Care of Meriden. Exceptional In-Home Services, 267 Finch Ave, Meriden, CT 06451. For online condolences, please visit jferryfh.com.
