Sheila Arnett Butterworth of Cordele passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta at the age of 57. Born in Cordele, she was the daughter of Johnny Lee and Betty Staines Arnett. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Butterworth and her father, Johnny Arnett. Sheila had worked as a phlebotomist with Crisp Regional Hospital. She loved her family and home and the duties that came with that such as baking and sewing. She also enjoyed watching TV, especially Little House On The Prairie and The Waltons. Sheila is survived by two daughters, Ashley Adams (Hunter) of Pooler and Amanda Butterworth of Thomson; her mother, Betty Jo Arnett of Cordele; two brothers, Johnny Lee Arnett, Jr. and Tim Arnett (Theresa); two sisters, Connie A. Harris (Rob) and Margie Arnett and her fiance, Paul Minshew; two grandchildren, Walker Adams and Ranger Adams; and her fur babies and constant companions, Sophie and Browser. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Rainey Family Funeral Services from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. The graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele. Donations toward funeral expenses will be accepted at Rainey Family Funeral Services.
