Knabb – Sheila Diana Keene Knabb, age 61, of Macclenny, Florida went to her Heavenly Home on October 31, 2023, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Macclenny, Florida on February 17, 1962, to V.H. Keene and Rachel Wilson Keene. Sheila was a lifelong resident of Baker County and one of the founding members of Calvary Baptist Church. As a young adult, she enjoyed pageantry and was blessed to be Miss Baker County. Sheila met the love of her life and best friend at the Macedonia River at the age of 14. After graduating from Baker County High School in 1980 she married her lifetime love, William Woodrow "Woody" Knabb, in 1980. Sheila and Woody lived out a true love story celebrating 42 beautiful years of marriage. She was a very hard-working businesswoman in real estate development and also enjoyed managing her rental properties and manicuring her lawn. She was an active member at Calvary Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and worshiping her Lord and Savior. Sheila enjoyed cooking huge family meals, going to their home on Kingsley Lake, spending precious time with her family and she found great joy in making sweet memories. She devoted her life to loving and taking care of her family, who adoringly describe her as the most beautiful, kind, and caring woman they have ever known. She was certainly a treasure to so many and will be deeply missed. Sheila was preceded in death by her father, V.H. Keene and her brother, Nathan Keene.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Woody Knabb of Macclenny, FL; mother, Rachel Wilson Keene of Macclenny, FL; children, Dr. Kyle (Natalie) Knabb and Lexy (D.J.) Griffis both of Macclenny, FL; sisters, Charlotte (Bruce) Bennett of Glen St. Mary, FL and Helen (Carter) McCollum of Macclenny, FL; two grandchildren, Keira Knabb and Ella Griffis; along with many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Sheila's Life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with John Sharman and Pastor David Garlick officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V. Shelia was a beautiful soul. Always had a smile and good word to share with you. She was the same in personality no matter where you ran into her at in the county. She will be greatly missed.
