Sheila A. (Schweighart) May, 62, of Canton, passed away at her residence on Saturday, December 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Sheila Ann was born March 2, 1962, in Danville, Illinois, a daughter of the late Lloyde and Judith (Wagoner) Schweighart. She attended Troy area schools and was a graduate of the class of 1980. On December 15, 1984, Sheila married her soulmate, Kevin May at the Ecumenical Parish in Canton. Together they shared 40 years of devoted marriage. Sheila was employed at Bradford County Domestic Relations in Towanda for over 4 years until her health no longer permitted her to work. She was a member of the Grover Church of Christ and the Canton WOTM #981.
Sheila was the most devoted wife, mother and MeMe you could ever meet. She never missed her grandchildren's sporting events, no matter how far away they were. Getting her nails done with her daughter and dinners with her beloved husband were always some special times. Sheila loved to bake and cook and made sure to share her talent with her grandchildren.
Sheila leaves behind her husband, Kevin May, daughter; Melissa (Jason) Jackson, extended daughter; Jill Deitrick, grandchildren; Anthony (Abby) Deitrick, Jakob Deitrick (Lindsey Benedict), Bailey Koernig (Cole Baer), Madison Deitrick, Parker Jackson and Maeleigh Deitrick, great grandchild due in March, "Baby Deitrick", sister; Shelley Hurlburt, brother-in-law; Randy (Deanna) May, faithful canine companion; Maggie, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Besides her parents, Sheila was predeceased by her in-laws; Max and Mila May and a nephew; Kayden Light.
