Sheila J. Neely

Sheila J. Neely, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and community figure, passed away peacefully at her home in Manchester, Tennessee, on July 30, 2025, at the age of 68. She was a dedicated entrepreneur, having owned and operated a cherished general store that served as a hub for her community.
Born on March 19, 1957, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, Sheila was the daughter of the late William Thomas Harrington and Frances Agnus Richards Harrington. She was 1 of 19 children, and although she joins her other siblings, she leaves behind her sisters, Frances Morse, Nila McGuire (Mike), Beulah Morris (Ron), Karen Wilson, and Doris McDaniel.
Sheila was the devoted wife of John Neely. She is survived by her loving children, Shelly Ervin, Anthony Asbury, and her stepson, Kayland Neely. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Daniel Harmon, Josh Harmon, Chelsea Mack, Rachel Cross, Alex Asbury, Anthony Asbury, and Reagan Neely; and her precious great-grandchildren, Willow Harmon, Abigail Harmon, John Waylon Harmon, Emi Lou Harmon, Odette Mack, Nola June Mack, Gracie Shockley, and Ryder Cross. She will also be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Sheila had a vibrant spirit and a wide array of passions. She found joy in friendly games of pool and cards, and her kitchen was often filled with the aroma of her delicious home-cooked meals and baked goods. She had a profound love for plants and gardening, both indoors and out, even if her indoor plants sometimes proved a challenge! She had a passion for yard sales and could spot a treasure from a mile away. To her, bargain hunting was more than a hobby, it was a sport, and she played it like a champion!
Funeral services will be held at Manchester Funeral Home on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Larry Bush will officiate. On Monday, August 4th, 2025 at 10:00 AM, Sheila will be laid to rest at HooDoo Cemetery in Beechgrove, Coffee County, Tennessee.
