Sheila Tatroe Obituary

Sheila graduated from Waverly High School in 1981. She went on to work for Hacker King Sherry Insurance Agency for 30 years and was very committed to her work. She was also very strong in her faith and knew the Bible well. She had many passions - among the list of the many things she loved include reading, music, and cats. She enjoyed adventures, having new experiences, and learning new things, as well as spending time with her family. Sheila has been described as "unique," "funny," "smart," and "open-minded" by those that knew her. Her creativity, positive energy, and kindness will be deeply missed by many.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Gene Tatroe; her beloved daughter, Tucker Rose Tatroe; step-children Rance (Michelle) Tatroe, Dustin Tatroe; mother Claudia Tenny, mothers-in-law, Diane Talsma and Nancy Hassett; her siblings, Shelley (Mike) Jacobs, Steven Talsma, Sharon (Greg) Zenker, Stuart Talsma, Deb Isler, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Mearl Talsma; grandparents George and Verda Towers, Mark and Maggie Talsma, and Alvin and Dorothy Schneider.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 14th 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverview Church - Westside Venue, 7533 West St. Joe Hwy, Lansing, MI, 48917. Interment will take place at Delta Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel, 6301 W. St. Joe Hwy, Lansing, MI, 48917. Visitation will continue at the church Thursday at 10 a.m.
In honor of Sheila's love for animals, donations may be made to your favorite animal shelter or rescue organization.
