Sheila Yvonne (Sexton) Turner, 77, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday morning , October 15, 2025 at the Glen Oaks Health Campus following an extended illness.
She was born October 2,1948 in Monticello, KY and was the daughter of the late Carrol P. and Lucy Lillian (Bertram) Sexton.
Sheila was a 1966 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High school and earned a B.S. degree in accounting from Ball State University . A respected leader and partner in several companies, Sheila devoted her career to excellence in the nursing facility field. She was admired as both a skilled administrator and a trusted consultant, known for her integrity, compassion, and mentorship to all who worked with her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 51 years, Jack C. Turner; a step-son, Daniel (Heather L.) Turner of Alabama; a step-daughter, Dawn Rene (Andrew) Crawford of West Lafayette; five grandchildren; one brother, Don (Joan) Sexton of Springport ; a niece, Dana Spradlin also of Springport; several other nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive; and a special friend, Anne Sellers of Indianapolis
Sheila loved her friends and family fiercly, generously giving to everyone in need and always found serving others and putting everyone else before herself. She changed many lives for the better and left a remnant of love for each, that will not be forgotten.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant child.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am , Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Sproles Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am until time of service . The family will have a private graveside to be held at a later date.
