Shelby (Emery) McDonnell, age 64, of Easton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of John F. McDonnell.
Born in Stoughton and raised in East Bridgewater. She was the daughter of the late Forrest H. Emery and Marjorie I. (Knox) Emery.
Shelby was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School, class of 1979. She was also formerly employed as at Hilliard's House of Candy as a candy maker.
Shelby fell in love with John and they were married in 1985 on the hills of New Hampshire.
Shelby was always there to listen, give enlightenment and never judge. She was a loving hippie soul. She was a "second Mom" too many of her kids friends.
Shelby had a love for arts and crafts; making Halloween costumers for all the kids. She was a talented bead and jewelry maker. She also was a Brownie leader to many young girls.
Shelby loved animals especially cats and her beloved bengles over the years. She had a love for "Magical Maine" it was her happy place. She camped at Keoka Beach as a child and later on in life she would do this with her own family. She was always up for an adventure from road trips to nowhere or just hanging out by the fire.
Beside her loving husband John, she is survived by her two loving children, Nikki M. McDonnell and her fiancé Christopher M. Piana of East Taunton and Ryan W. McDonnell and his fiancé Alicia Smith of Norfolk, VA; Proud Nana to her beautiful grandsons, Riley Emery McDonnell and Eirik Raven McDonnell; her sister, Hollis " Holly" Siscoe of Georgia; her mother-in-law, Kathy McDonnell of Naples, FL; her bother-in-law, Daniel McDonnell of Easton; her loving nieces and nephews, Alan Siscoe of Fl, Brad Siscoe of New Bedford and Pamela and Julie Siscoe of Fl.
Memorial visitation will be at the Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington St. (Rte 138) Easton, on Wednesday, October 22nd from 4:00 to 7:00pm with a funeral service being held and at 6:30pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to the American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Rd. #301, Framingham, MA 01701.
