Shelby Rose Obituary

Shelby Jean Rose, age 78 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Saturday, November 15, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on December 27, 1946 the daughter of the late Bob and Mavis (Liles) Evans. Shelby had been a homemaker and worked for KFC, and attended the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church. Singing, playing cards, and playing guitar were her favorites hobbies, but she made her family the center of her life.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Rose; daughter, Tracy Alcorn; and brothers, Bobby Evans and Mike Evans.

Survivors include her sons, Terry Rose and wife, Cathy of Whitley City, Kentucky and Tom Rose of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; sisters, Sue Pees and Linda Rhoden both of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; grandchildren, Toby Rose, Tyler Rose, Amber Barnett, Casey Palmer, Josh Alcorn, and Dakota Alcorn; and great grandchildren, Paxton Palmer, Elliott Alcorn, Macie Rose, Tateum Rose, Rosalind Golden, and Adalynn Golden.

Funeral services will be held 10am Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Damon Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Eagle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the Funeral Home.
