Shelby Shortt Obituary
Shelby was born January 6, 1942 in Bandy, VA, and is the middle daughter of three for the late Elihue "Boyd" Stacey and Rosie Honaker Shehorn. She is a retired senior library assistant for 19 years with the Tampa Public Library system from 1985-2004. Shelby moved to Tampa from Detroit with her husband and son in 1967. She enjoyed reading, watching "Days of Our Lives" on TV, eating See's Candy from California, bus tours and vacationing with her sisters.
Shelby's memory will be carried on by:
Her husband Victor "Sonny" Shortt of Wise, VA
Son, Kelly and wife, Jan of Lakeland, Fla
Granddaughters: Hayley Clark and husband, Brandon, along with Kylie Shortt and fiancé, Adam Torres of Lakeland, Fla.
Sister, Sue Alford of Mantua, Ohio.
A close friend, Susan Taylor of Lakeland, FL and numerous nieces and nephews across the country.
Interment for Shelby Shortt will be noon Friday, December 5, 2025, at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Family and friends present onsite will act as pallbearers.
