Shellene M. Suchy
Auburn, Michigan
Shellene "Shelly" Suchy, a beacon of love and faith to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, at the age of 73 in Saginaw, Michigan. Born on September 12, 1951, in
Kawkawlin, Michigan, Shelly grew into a woman whose life was characterized by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her faith.
Shelly's early years in Kawkawlin laid the foundation for a life filled with the joy of family and the satisfaction of service. Her career path led her to meaningful roles at Monitor Sugar, Agrico, and Dr. Dowling Podiatry where she formed lasting friendships and demonstrated her exceptional work ethic. Shelly's caring nature also shone brightly in her work with the St. Vincent de Paul Store/Society and the Corpus Christi Parish Food Pantry. However, her most cherished role was that of a wife, mother, and grandmother, raising her daughters and later providing nurturing childcare to her beloved grandsons.
Shelly's true loves were her immediate family which included her husband, Robert "Bob" whom she married on August 14, 1971, daughters Jennifer Havercamp and Jill (Peter) Beehler, and grandchildren Riley and Kyle Havercamp, and Sara, Rachel, and Rose Beehler, who will miss her deeply. She was a beloved sister to Diane (Tom) Sajdak and Rhonda (Bob) Knochel, and a treasured niece to her Aunt Myrtle Wackerle. Shelly was also a dear sister-in-law to Frances (Richard) Lauer, Bruce Suchy, Joe (Carol) Suchy, Ed (Jane) Suchy, Mary (Mike) Richards, and Mark (Nina) Suchy. Her life was enriched by many dear family members and countless special friends who became an extended family to her.
Although preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Kathyrn (Wieland) Wackerle, her in-laws Joe and Emma Suchy, and her beloved nephews John Szwed and Wade Sajdak, as well as her niece Julie Pryor, Shelly's legacy continues through the lives of those she touched.
Shelly's interests reflected her appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid walker, finding peace and solace in nature's beauty. Her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, blooming with the same love she gave to everything she tended. A longtime member of the Catholic Church, Shelly found great comfort and joy in her faith, and she was known for her vast collection of prayer cards, which she read and shared with others.
Those who knew Shelly would describe her as loving, kind, and faith filled. She had the unique ability to make everyone around her feel valued and loved. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature were evident in all her interactions, and she leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Shelly's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of faith. Her memory will be honored not just in the stories shared by her family and friends, but in the acts of kindness she inspired in others. Shelly Suchy's life was a gift to us all, and she will be deeply missed.
