Mr. Shelley R. Sattler, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on April 5, 1943, in Church Point, Louisiana, Mr. Sattler lived a life rich in love and dedicated service.

A devoted member of the Knights of Columbus since 1973, Shelley exemplified the values of faith and community throughout his life. He served honorably in the Air Force, an experience that shaped his character and deepened his commitment to serving others. In his professional life, Shelley spent over 30 years as a Process Operator at Lyondell Basell, earning the respect of colleagues and supervisors alike before retiring. Even after retirement, he continued to enrich his life and the lives of those around him by working at Lowe's in Port Arthur, discovering a fulfilling second chapter in his career.

Mr. Sattler's passion for woodworking was not merely a hobby but became a testament to his talents, as he crafted all the furniture in his home, leaving behind a legacy of handmade creations that his family will cherish for generations to come.

Shelley enjoyed being a member of the Cajun Music Association, Gulf Coast Chapter, of which he served on the Board of Directors for many years.

Shelley was incredibly proud of his family, and his love for them knew no bounds. He is survived by his beloved son, Tony Sattler and his wife, Melissa of Lumberton; daughters, Kim Anderson and her husband, Gary of Port Neches; and Ginger Watts and her husband, Joey of Nederland. Shelley delighted in the company of his grandchildren: Makaela Sattler, Makenzie Coplen and her husband, Caden, Steven Anderson, Karen Wallace and her husband, Curtis, Vincent Anderson, Jason Anderson and his wife, Kayla, Taylor Watts, and Ashley Watts. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Oaklynn, Jax, Collins, Chris, Michael, Hazel, Scarlet, Emma, Isabella, Tyler, and Audrey, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Mr. Sattler was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Deborah Sattler, whose memory he cherished until the end. He was also welcomed into eternity by his parents, Austin and Annie Sattler. Shelley is survived by his brothers, Harold Sattler, Jimmy Sattler, Mike Sattler, and Ronnie Sattler, along with his sisters, Sharon Wright and Rose Randall, creating a strong family bond that held together through the years.

A visitation will be held on June 4, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM at the same location.  A graveside service will be held at Oak Bluff following the funeral service.

Mr. Shelley R. Sattler will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his generosity, and the tremendous love he had for his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him.
