Sherlane Schneblin Heeg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wright & Salmon Mortuary - Peoria on Aug. 12, 2025.

Sherlane Patricia Schneblin Heeg, age 92, left this world to be with her Savior, Our Lord, Jesus Christ on August 11, 2025. Sherlane was born August 21, 1932, in Chicago Illinois to Lorraine (Blumb) and Howard Schneblin.

Sherlane lived her early years in Chicago before moving to Peoria in 1935. Her family had a home on Sterling Avenue where she was surrounded by relatives throughout Madison Manor. She was quite a handful (as any of her relatives can tell you). In her elementary school years, the family moved out to land they had purchased off of Farmington Road. Her fraternal grandparents, aunt and uncle all had homes on the land, and it was a wonderful place to grow up.

After elementary school at St. Mark's, Sherlane went on to attend Peoria Central High School where she graduated in 1950. While attending high school she was introduced to a "good looking guy" from Spalding Institute, John (Jack) C. Heeg, Jr. They dated throughout high school, and continued while attending college. While enrolled at Bradley University, she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Jack proposed to her at the Law School Dinner Dance and they were married at St. Mark's on August 29, 1953.

Sherry considered herself lead "Ambassador" of Lakeview Museum where she worked for over 20 years. These were the best years of her life, she enjoyed greeting people as they came into the museum, helping with the exhibits and galas; but it was the children that she enjoyed so very much. She really treasured this time. She was also member of St. Mark's and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church before moving to Texas. Sherry was also a past member of the Proctor Service League and the Junior Women's League.

Sherlane is preceded in death by Jack in 1973 as well as her parents. She is survived by her children, Lynne Warnick (Tom) of Rowlett, TX and Christopher Heeg (Laura) of Columbia, IL as well as five grandchildren, Ben Warnick (Jennifer), Brittany Warnick, Kathryn Guzman (Cesar), John Heeg and Christopher Heeg, Jr. She will be missed by her great-grandchildren, Phillip Warnick, Lorenzo Guzman, Hannah Warnick and the soon to arrive Ezekiel Guzman.

Visitation will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Midwest Affiliate in Sherlane's name.
