Sherry Lynn Davis (née Crabtree), age 64, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born on December 3, 1960, in Marion, Indiana, Sherry lived a life marked by warmth, generosity, and deep devotion to her family.
Sherry was the beloved partner of Bill Stuckum for 24 years. Together they built a life filled with love and shared experiences that spanned decades. Her unwavering commitment to those she loved was evident in every aspect of her life.
She was a devoted mother to five children: Stephanie (Todd) Birmingham, Jennifer Phillips, Heather (Juan Aguayo) Davis, Jules Stuckum, and Kyle (Destinee) Davis. Her nurturing spirit extended to her ten grandchildren - Austin (Delena) Masterson, Zeke Birmingham, Heidi Aguayo, Kobi Smith, Sydney Birmingham, Alex Aguayo, Lily Phillips, Isabelle Birmingham, Matthew Davis, and Tayler Davis - and five great-grandchildren: Kason Birmingham, Sa'von Johnson, Adelynn Birmingham, Dylan Masterson, and Jennifer Smith. Each generation was touched by her kindness and care.
Sherry is also survived by her four siblings: Kathy (Jack) Barnett, Buddy Crabtee, Debbie (Glenn) Daisy), and Jodi (Terry) Lockett. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Aileen Crabtree.
A woman of many passions and talents, Sherry found joy in traveling to new places and relaxing on sunlit beaches. She had a green thumb that brought beauty to every garden she tended. In quieter moments at home, she enjoyed reading novels that transported her imagination far beyond the page. Crosswords challenged her mind while crocheting allowed her to create gifts stitched with love.
Those who knew Sherry remember her as caring and giving-someone who always puts others before herself. Her family-oriented nature created a strong foundation for generations to come. Whether offering a listening ear or lending a helping hand without hesitation, she embodied compassion in its truest form.
In honor of Sherry's memory and the light she brought into so many lives, we reflect on the words of the poem "After Glow," which she held dear:
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo of whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
May Sherry Lynn Davis's memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 S. Bailey Ave., South Haven, Michigan.
