Sherry Connley Eggleston, 68, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Unity Point Health in Marshalltown.
A Celebration of Life for Sherry will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League towards the Marshalltown Strong TNR group for cats in need. Sherry Connley was born on June 29, 1954 in Marshalltown to Wayne and Donna Connley. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1972. Sherry had been united in marriage to Dick Eggleston and later they divorced. She had previously worked for the KIOWA Corp, for twenty-eight years. She will be missed by everyone at KIOWA. Sherry had said that they were just like her family. She later worked at Grandview Heights as a dietary aide for nineteen years, retiring in 2021. Sherry was a proud member of the UAW. She had a passion of fighting for everyone's rights. She gave everything her all and was concerned for everyone other than herself. Sherry was an outgoing person and had a kind heart as well as an outgoing personality. She was also an avid cat lover. Sherry was a member of the Marshalltown Strong TNR group, which helped take in cats at need. Sherry enjoyed swimming and just being in the water. She also liked watching the Walton's, movies with her friends and her potato soup and Pepsi with ice.
Sherry is survived by her sister, Sandra Connley Nodland; nieces and nephews: James (Shelly) Nodland, Katelyn Nodland, Tyler Nodland, Westin Deal, Gracie Deal and Renee Nodland. She is also survived by her good friends; Connie Thede Armstrong, Deb Lang and Mary Stewart.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Donna and her very-very special friend, Harlan Hawkins.
