Sherry Lynn Johnson, age 74, of Cumberland, Kentucky, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 31, 2024, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was the daughter of the late Ollie and Audrey Morris Nease. She had worked many years as a cook for Charlotte's Hoagie Shop and was a devoted member of the Cumberland Pentecostal Church. Sherry loved attending services and loved the Lord with all her heart.
Sherry was a delightful person. She never met a stranger and enjoyed good conversation. She would visit with the residents of the local nursing home, just because she cared. She was a wonderful cook. Her family described her home-made lemon crème cake as the best. She always made one for her husband on his birthday. She was a loving, caring, giving lady that would do anything for anyone. She was loved greatly and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Douglas Anthony Johnson, brothers, David Nease and twins, Larry and Darrell Nease, sister, Linda Kaye Stidam.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of fifty-four years, Douglas Arthur Johnson, daughters, Teresa Johnson, Starr (Travis) White, Charity Sheeks, brother, Gregory Allen Nease, sisters, Charlotte (Mearl) Rhodes, Gail (Billy Ray) Gilliam, Gwen (Pete) Caldwell, Sheila Sexton, grandchildren, Wayne "Bo" Duff, Luke (Nova) White, Logan White, Trinity Sheeks, Riley Sheeks, great grandchildren, Amelia Duff and Cruz Sheeks, a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4th, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cumberland Pentecostal Church, 73 Victory Road, Cumberland, Kentucky.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 5th, beginning at 1 p.m. from the church with Rev. Michael Blair and Rev. Barbara Blair officiating.
Burial will follow in the Nease Family Cemetery at Nease Hollow Road, Blair, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Wayne Duff, Riley Sheeks, Luke White, Logan White and other family members.
Cumberland Valley Funeral Home is Honored to Serve the Johnson and Nease Families.
