Sherry Johnson Obituary Sherry E. (Stevens) Johnson, 73, of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday (February 11, 2025) at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born April 13, 1951 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Lewis Stevens and Grace (Endley) Stevens.
A graduate of Cambridge High School, Sherry had worked as an LPN at the former Guernsey Memorial Hospital and later at Red Carpet Health Care Center. Most recently, she had worked in the home health care industry.
Sherry was a member of the Byesville VFW Post 3760 Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed being on Facebook, using her coloring apps, and reading on her Kindle. She loved flowers. Most of all, she cherished and loved the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Gary E. "G.E." Johnson, who passed away March 15, 2003. They were married December 31, 1975. Also deceased is her son, Shane R. Johnson; two brothers, Lewis "Tink" Stevens and an infant brother; and a sister, Peggy Stevens.
Sherry is survived by three daughters, Regina (& Rob) Pennell of New Concord, Tammy Sherman of Cambridge, and Kristi Johnson of Cambridge; a brother, Rodney (& Sandy) Stevens of Byesville; a sister, Shelly Burris of Cambridge; two half-sisters, Brenda (& Mike) Wertz of Cambridge and Elaine (& Bob) Hildebrand of Byesville; eleven grandchildren, Trent, Chelsea, Shayla, Colton, Shayne, Koby, Riley, Tristen, Nathan, Blake, and Eric; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and her companion of several years, Gary Grimes.
Memorial visitation hours will be held Saturday (March 15, 2025) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville.
