Sherry Lynn Smith, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, at her home in La Crosse, WI, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 28, 1957 in Tomah, WI to Earl and Virginia (Blackhawk) Smith.

Sherry's favorite joys in life included watching her Cowboy western shows, playing pool, going for rides, enjoying a cold Budweiser, people watching and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Shawntel (Mario) Zarate, Desirae (Michael) Adams, Demitreus Adams, and Nicholas Gjeruldson; grandchildren, Hayden, Jazmine-Rose, Caleb, Amadeus, Amireo, Giovani, Gabriel, and Desmond; along with her two sisters, Sharon Pierce and Nola Smith.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Virginia; brothers, George Smith, Earl Smith Jr., and Clifford Blackdeer; and two sisters, Ellen Blackdeer and Sarah Smith.

Traditional Ho-Chunk Services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Blue Wing Community Center in Tomah. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12 p.m. Burial will follow at the Blue Wing Cemetery.

The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences are available at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com.
