Sherry Maria (Greer) Tolli, age 74, went to be with her Savior on November 20, 2024.

She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on February 20, 1950. Sherry was a graduate of Hendersonville High School, in the Class of 1968. Later she attained her associate degree from Volunteer State Community College, 1981, and completed her education in 1983, at Middle Tennessee State University, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminal justice.

Sherry was an executive director and one of the first legal advocates in Tennessee for HomeSafe-Inc. She provided services and direction for Homesafe Inc. for 27 years. She was also a contracted Certified Domestic Violence Trainer for Virginia Commonwealth University.

Sherry was very passionate about her community service. In 1994, she was a Legislatively appointed member of the Tennessee Domestic Violence Coordinating Council. As a Member of the Council, she served on the Emerging Issues Sub-Committee; the Judicial Policy Training Development Sub-Committee, who developed the first Domestic Violence Benchbook for Judges; and the Batterer’s Intervention Standards Sub-Committee.

She was also on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Task Force Against Domestic Violence. She served as Co-Chair, and Chair of the Board of Directors 1989-1992; as well as Chair of the Peer Review Policy Development Committee.

Sherry also served on the Board of Directors for Gallatin CARES, 1985-1986.

Sherry was recognized for her devotion to her work and the impact she had on her community with three awards, the Sunshine Advocate Award, from the Doris Buffett’s Sunshine Lady Foundation; the Sui Juris Award, from the Tennessee Task Force Against Domestic Violence; and the Mary Renshaw Award, also from the Tennessee Task Force Against Domestic Violence.

Most Recently, Sherry was still volunteering with HomeSafe Program, developing facilitating trainings and community outreach.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Johnny Tolli; father, William Francis Greer; and mother, Eula Corrine (Edgin) Greer.

Sherry Maria (Greer) Tolli is survived by her loving sons, John “Nino” Tolli (Brandi), Nick Tolli (Carrisa); grandchildren, Nicholas Tolli, Aliyah Tolli (Cody Johnson), Marcia Tolli; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Tommy Greer; sister, Connie Laguna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the Tolli family will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, on Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 3:00 P.M., until 7:00 P.M.; and again on Monday, November 25, from 11:00 A.M., until 1:00 P.M.

Pastor Larry Treadway will be officiating the memorial service in honor of Mrs. Sherry Tolli, on Monday, November 25, at 1:00 P.M.

Following her cremation, Mrs. Sherry Tolli will be placed with her late husband, Johnny, in Crestview Memory Gardens, at a later date in a private family service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations to either cause that was close to Sherry’s heart. In Sherry’s own words… “ Because Sherry always believed that the expense of funeral flowers is a waste, she requests financial donations of any amount be made in her memory to either: HomeSafe-Inc. (331 S. Water Ave, Gallatin, TN, 37066), or Portland General Baptist Church (107 W. Market St., Portland, TN, 37148).”
