It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sheryl Ann Thompson, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, who left this world on October 24, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on June 27, 1948, in Seattle, Washington, Sheryl lived a vibrant life filled with love, creativity, and service to others.

Sheryl was the daughter of David and Maxine Thompson, who predeceased her. She is survived by her loving husband, Al Grapoli, stepson Sean(Amber) Grapoli, and her brothers Jim(Theresa), Tom(Eileen), and Jay(Kathy)Thompson, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts, as will her many grandsons, nieces and nephews. Sheryl and Al were united in marriage on September 29, 1990, in Salem, Oregon, celebrating a beautiful partnership that lasted over five decades.

A passionate advocate for education and personal development, Sheryl pursued her studies at Oregon State University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Education specializing in Counseling. She dedicated much of her career to the State of Oregon, serving as a training manager first for Senior Services and then for Oregon OSHA, where she was esteemed for her guidance and leadership until her retirement.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Sheryl was deeply committed to her community and charitable causes. She was a consistent contributor to organizations such as the Red Cross, Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude's, and Food Share, showcasing her caring, loving, and optimistic nature. Sheryl had an innate ability to find goodness in everyone, always extending her hand to help those in need.

Art was a passion that Sheryl cherished throughout her life. She was one of the original artist members of the River Gallery in Independence, Oregon, where she found joy in creating beautiful works of art. Her love for creativity extended beyond her artwork; she enjoyed playing racquetball and pickleball, cherished her adventures on regular RV trips to nature locations, and was an avid reader, immersing herself in a variety of topics. Sheryl also had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly her beloved Havanese, Danny.

Sheryl's life was a testament to the power of love and kindness. Her genuine spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy will continue through the many lives she impacted. Friends and family are invited to honor her memory privately, as per her wishes.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, supporting the fight against cancer that affects so many lives.

Sheryl Ann Thompson will be deeply missed, but her light will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
