Shirley Nell Brockway, 86, of Kaufman, TX passed away on April 1, 2025, in Rowlett. Shirley was born on March 13, 1939, to Malcolm and Gracie Long in Rand, TX. She grew up in the Kaufman area, graduating from Kaufman high school in 1957. On July 3, 1958, Shirley married Roy Brockway, and they spent a loving 54 years together before his passing in August of 2012. She worked for Trinity Valley Electric Coop as a secretary for a few years before joining her husband at the Roy Brockway Bail Bonds. Shirley loved her family; and her favorite things to do was go to her sons’ rodeos and grandchildren’s sporting and school activities. She also enjoyed Bingo and other social activities. Shirley attended Ola Church of Christ for a long time before joining Landmark Church of Christ most recently. She would also help with other residents at the nursing home, when her husband was staying in one and then when she moved into one. Shirley was a beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Her parents, Malcolm and Gracie, husband Roy, and sister Joyce Rhea preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory are sons: Tim Brockway and wife Angela, and Mike Brockway and wife Barbara; grandchildren: Shane Brockway and wife Van, Leslie Rivers, Casey Brockway and wife Jordan, Cyle Brockway and wife Jackie, and Catey Brockway; 22 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
