Conway....... Shirley J. Brown, age73, wife of Freddie Brown passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024.
Mrs. Brown was born in Monroe, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Marjorie Horn Lowery. Mr. and Mrs. Brown moved to Conway in the early 1980's. Upon moving to Conway, Mrs. Brown began working at South Conway Elementary School in the school cafeteria while her children were students. After the children graduated, Mrs. Brown returned to school herself, graduating from college and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed by Healthcare Partners and then later with Carolina Internal Medicine, a position that she dearly loved. She was loved by so many who visited that office. Mrs. Brown was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was loved by everyone and never met a stranger.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: one son, Keith Brown (Crystal) of Conway; two daughters, Kelli Carroll of Galivants Ferry and Kim Nealey (Jeremy) of Loris; five grandchildren, Emma Graham, Olivia Hallead, Blake Carroll, Dylan Carroll, and Dakota Nealey; two brothers, Billy Snow (Debbie) of Jacksonville, Florida and Donald Wallace (Priscilla) of Indian Trail, North Carolina; and one sister, Jerri Bowers (Omer) of Heath Springs, South Carolina.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday from New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Lindsay Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at New Hope Baptist Church.
Memorials may be sent to New Hope Baptist Church, 5489 Kates Bay Highway, Conway, SC 29527.
