Shirley Mae Christoph, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on July 31st, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born on May 7th, 1942, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to the late Albert and Eunice (Degulle) Derepkowski. She graduated from East High School in 1960. On August 21, 1965, she married the love of her life Norbert Christoph. She studied cosmetology and worked in that field for 15 years. Shirley also worked for Brown County Health Services and retired from Austin Straubel Airport after 22 years of service.
Shirley was in the women's bowling league and played in a couples league with her husband. Shirley enjoyed traveling to Arizona in winter with her husband to visit their son, Don. When in Arizona, Shirley and her husband liked to travel to Laughlin, Nevada, and gamble. Shirley and her husband liked visiting their cottage on Lake Noquebay in the summer with their dog, Buddy. Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren, Katlynn Albert and Jacob Mleziva.
She is survived by four loving children: Don Christoph in Arizona, Tom Christoph in Green Bay, Lisa (Jeff) Mleziva in Luxemburg, Becky Christoph and her partner Sandy in Green Bay; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Felix) Wery; sister-in-law, Anita Christoph; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Christoph; brother, Ron Derepkowski; her sister-in-law, Barb Derepkowski; brother-in-law, Tony Christoph; and two nephews, Danny Wery and Fred Wery.
Shirley will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Receptions, Funerals, 340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay. A short prayer service for Shirley will begin at 6:45 p.m. Private interment will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery (Humboldt Cemetery)
The family would like to thank Dr. Leah Nitke and Dr. Katie Livingston (Radiation Oncologist) Aurora Hospital, Heartland Hospice, Newcomer Funeral Home, Our Neighbors, and Katlynn Albert, Christoph (granddaughter), who was Shirley's caregiver.
